Model hospitalized after botched plastic surgery in Brazil
More proof that you need to be very careful when choosing your plastic surgeon (DO YOUR RESEARCH and make sure they’re BOARD-CERTIFIED!) A 27-year-old Brazilian model, competing to be “Miss BumBum”, was recently hospitalized after undergoing treatment to enlarge her thighs. (Yes, you read that last part correctly.)
On November 21, Andressa Urach underwent a procedure that involved doctors into her thighs and butt to increase their shape and size. Shortly after the injection, Urach developed an infection and was sent to a hospital where doctors drained her thigh. Urach currently requires a breathing apparatus and is heavily sedated.
Urach told Brazil’s R7 website, “The hydrogel was not absorbed by my body and started to harm me. Now I’ve discovered that the PMMA is sticking to my muscles and causing tissue rot. That’s why I am feeling such strong pains. I’m taking morphine every four hours and antibiotics to alleviate the suffering.”
